Why We Built This Site
Public access in Calhoun County is split among several custodians. The Clerk of the Circuit Court maintains Circuit and Family Court files, while the Magistrate Clerk keeps Magistrate Court records. The County Clerk handles probate and county-government material rather than the Circuit docket. WVPASS supplies public Circuit case access, and Magistrate Court Case Search supplies a separate statewide index. This resource organizes those distinct portals, office contacts, number formats, and request paths so readers can begin with the office that actually holds the record.
What You Will Find Here
- Case lookups: ways to use a party name or case number in the appropriate case search
- Record requests: steps for requesting court records, including certified copies from the proper clerk
- Docket guides: local instructions for reading and searching Calhoun County criminal dockets and civil dockets
- Court settings: methods for checking the court calendar and verifying that a hearing is still scheduled
What We Cannot Do
This privately run reference site is not connected with a West Virginia court, clerk, or public agency. As a result, its role has firm limits:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or setting listed on this site is current right now
Only the clerk of court or the trial court that heard the case can issue an official or certified copy of a docket sheet or court record. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
Search Partners
Outside providers power search boxes on some pages. They control their own results, prices, and service terms. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports this resource. Calhoun County Court Docket does not set partner charges or decide which records a partner displays.
